Here’s how to sponsor a child

A child who misses lunch, misses learning!

There are children in our schools whose families can't afford school lunches and yet they still don't qualify for federal lunch programs. Dare to Care provides a way for you to help feed one of these children.

Adopt a school for a year

The average cost to adopt a school is $3,000. With this sponsorship, you are ensuring that No Child Goes Hungry in that school for an entire year.  Please let us know if you would like us to target a specific school or neighborhood.  

We request that you mail your check for school sponsorship to PO Box 671643, Chugiak, AK 99567-1643 as this will save nearly $100 in merchant fees and all allow your entire donation to go to the school of your choice.

Here's how sponsoring a child works

To sponsor a child, click either the Elementary Child or High School Child buttons.
You'll be able to choose how many days you want to sponsor.

Elementary and Middle School Lunches $3.55:

177 days =  $628 / year
89 days = $316 / 6 months
44 days = $156 / quarter

High School Lunches $4.00:

177 days = $708 / year
89 days = $356 / 6 months
44 days = $176 /quarter

You'll know a child is being fed and able to learn because of your help.

The Anchorage School District correctly maintains confidentialilty of all information regarding the children Dare to Care helps feed. Therefore, Dare to Care is unable to provide you with any information regarding any individual child. But rest assured that your donation helps feed a child and makes him or her better able to learn.
